Varietal (Type of Honey)
Blackberry honey is a monofloral honey, meaning the bees that make it predominantly visit only one type of plant, in this case - the flower of the many types of shrubs that yield blackberries. Multiple species within the genus Rubus produce the bramble fruit commonly referred to as blackberries. For that reason, you might sometimes see blackberry honey and bramble honey used interchangeably.
Light amber in color, this raw blackberry honey holds a delicately sweet taste with hints of berry.
At Neighborhood Hive, we sell only raw and unfiltered honey, and our blackberry honey is no different. Unlike most of the highly-processed honey you'll find in your local grocery store, our products are never pasteurized and have only had wax and other large particles removed before bottling. By refusing to process their honey, the beekeepers we partner with preserve all the good stuff found naturally in raw honey - vitamins, minerals, pollen, enzymes, and antioxidants. It's the real deal - straight from the hive.
By shopping with Neighborhood Hive, you’re supporting the sustainable beekeeping operation of local beekeepers and apiaries (honey farms) across the US. Our partnership model enables us to connect customers to a wide variety of high quality, raw and unfiltered honey from diverse regions across the US.
Our Southern California based partner sources this varietal from bees who pollinate blackberry bushes in Washington state. Orders typically ship within 2 business days from receipt.
